What to expect
In our first few sessions together, we will work to establish safety through cultivating an environment rooted in authenticity and non-judgement. After exploring your history, I will provide you with my clinical understanding of your struggles. From there, we will focus on how to meet your needs in different areas of your life using various therapeutic interventions and resources. We will also work towards goals related to developing advanced emotional and behavioral skills, self-awareness, and personal understanding.
I employ a variety of therapeutic theories and approaches that are tailored to each client’s unique concerns. I primarily use psychodynamic and attachment-based frameworks to understand your story and make sense of your conflicts. I use interventions and techniques that are mainly emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed, and mentalization-based which help to manage interpersonal issues, overwhelming emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
What To Expect
My fee for individual counselling sessions is $169.50 (including HST) per session unless otherwise discussed (i.e. previously offered sliding-scale and grandparented fee). My fee for couples counselling sessions is $226 (including HST) per session.
$150 CAD + HST per hour of work. I offer reduced fee services based on availability.

Payment & Insurance
Following each session, you will get an invoice which you can pay by E-Transfer to mira@samarapsychotherapy.com. Once I receive your payment, a receipt will be issued. This will have all the necessary information for you to receive reimbursement from your insurance provider for services. I do not offer direct billing for sessions.
If you will be using insurance, I encourage you to find out from your insurer what type of coverage you have for therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist.

If you need to cancel an appointment for a non-emergency reason, you will be charged the full agreed upon fee for the missed session if you do not let me know 24 hours beforehand.
