Hi I’m Mira, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Ontario! I am a first-generation Canadian and queer woman of Guyanese and Indo-Caribbean culture. I specialize in providing interdisciplinary, intersectional, and interpersonal psychotherapy services to a diverse clientele. My passion is supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities, although I provide services to individuals and couples from all walks of life. Through client-focused, relational, and trauma-informed evidence-based approaches, I help clients who are struggling with a broad range of mental health concerns.
My focus as a clinician is uncovering how your past experiences inform current challenges and triggers. I also believe in working to decipher complex emotions. I view therapy as a collaborative process, a journey where you are the expert in your life who can establish specific goals for your growth and personal development.
I have a deep interest in and understanding of how to help clients navigate their interpersonal relationship and attachment issues. I employ a variety of therapeutic theories and approaches that are tailored to each client’s unique concerns. My aim is to cultivate a strong therapeutic connection and meaningful professional relationship with you where you feel safe, empowered, and validated!
"Whether you’re facing a life transition, relationship conflict, or complex emotions, my goal is to work alongside you to help you discover your strengths and find the motivation to thrive in your life. Through integrative and evidence-based approaches, I help clients who are struggling with many different mental health concerns and personal challenges."
I obtained my undergraduate degree (BHSc) in Health Sciences & Psychology from the University of Ottawa where I focused on the social determinants of health, women’s sexual and reproductive health care, and pathophysiology. I completed my MEd in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. I am currently a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
